• Westminster Abbey Marks Srebrenica Anniversary

  A Solemn Commemoration for Srebrenica Memorial Day was held at Westminster Abbey at Noon on Monday 6th July.

• Mildred Cecil, Lady Burghley & Anne Countess of Oxford

  Philanthropist

  Mildred Cecil, Lady Burghley and her daughter Anne Vere, Countess of Oxford have a large monument in St Nicholas' chapel. Richard Cecil, Lord Burghley's father, is buried in St Margaret's Church.

  In the north cloister of Westminster Abbey is the grave of William Cliffe and his two nieces Mary and Ann Davies.

  In October 1977 Lady Fisher of Lambeth unveiled a memorial stone to Martyrs of the Reformation. This is to the west of Elizabeth I’s tomb.

• William Sayer

  In the north cloister of Westminster Abbey is the grave of William Sayer and his wife Sarah. He worked in His Majesty's Victualling Office.

• George Sparrow

  In St Margaret's is a memorial tablet to George Sparrow, Government agent, and members of his family. Unfortunately this is now hidden behind the organ.

• Medley family

  In the south cloister is a gravestone to three members of the Medley family. The mother lived in New Peter Street, near the Abbey.

  Mary was buried on 1st April 1665 but has no marker or monument. The location in the burial register says "near the Convocation door".

  Soldier

  John Milles was buried in the nave on 16th June 1815. His gravestone was taken up when the nave floor was re-laid in 1834.

• William III

  William III and Mary II were crowned as joint monarchs in the Abbey on 11th April 1689 – the first time this had happened in England. Their wax effigies are on display.

  Sir John Webster was buried within Westminster Abbey on 14th April 1675. He was described as having been Commissary for the Emperor of all Russia.

  Christopher Musgrave, Member of Parliament for Carlisle, was buried in the north transept on 16th September 1718 but he has no monument or readable gravestone.

• Didachus Sanchez

  In the north transept of Westminster Abbey is a worn grey marble stone, now without inscription, which covers the remains of Spanish soldier Didachus Sanchez.

  In the north cloister is the grave of Owen Davies and his wife Mary (Cliffe). Owen was Receiver General of the Abbey from 1729.

  James II was born on 14th October 1633. His coronation with his queen, Mary of Modena, took place at Westminster Abbey on 23rd April 1685.
