  Charles Blount, Earl of Devonshire, courtier and soldier, was buried in St Paul's chapel on 7th May 1606. But there is no gravestone.

  The ashes of Christian socialist and clergyman Frederic(k) Lewis Donaldson (known as Eric in his family) are buried in the vault of the Islip chapel.

  Charles I was the second son of James I and was born on 19th November 1600. He was crowned in Westminster Abbey in February 1626.

• Edward VI

  Edward succeeded his father when he was just 9 years old and was crowned in the Abbey on 20th February 1547. He died in 1553.

  The Dean of Westminster, the Very Reverend Dr John Hall, welcomed The Lord Mayor of Westminster and Deputy High Steward of the Abbey, Councillor Sarah Richardson, and other City of Westminster councillors to Westminster Abbey for the Civic Service on Sunday 7th July.

  Her Majesty The Queen and HRH The Duke of Edinburgh attended a Service of Thanksgiving for the Life and Work of the Rt Hon The 1st Earl of Snowdon GCVO in St Margaret's Church on Friday 7th April. They were accompanied by the Duke of Cambridge, the Duke of York, the Earl of Wessex, the Duke of Gloucester and the Duke of Kent.

  George Stone, archbishop of Armagh, was buried in the north aisle of the nave on 28th December 1764. He was born on 7th January 1708.

  William Pulteney, Earl of Bath, is buried in the Islip chapel with his wife and three children and his brother. A new vault was made.

  In the chapel of St Nicholas are buried Dame Sydney Bagenall and Lady Anne Charlotte Bagenall, the two wives of Nicholas Bagenall, Member of Parliament.

  The ashes of Robert Pickersgill Howgrave Graham, F.S.A., M.I.E.E., Assistant Keeper of the Muniments of Westminster Abbey from 1948-1959, are buried in the Islip chapel.

  Soldier

  Richard (Rich) Ingram, 5th Viscount Irvine (or Irwin) was buried in a vault at the east end of Henry VII's chapel on 17th April 1721.

  Arthur Tedder, 1st Baron Tedder, is one of the Royal Air Force wartime leaders remembered in the RAF chapel. He was knighted in 1942.
