In the south aisle of the nave is a memorial with bust to Zachary Pearce, Dean of Westminster. The monument was erected in about 1777.

On 16th January 1928 the ashes of the poet and writer Thomas Hardy were buried in Poets' Corner, north of the grave of Charles Dickens.

Henry Lawes, the distinguished musician and songwriter, was buried somewhere in the cloisters. His brother John, a lay vicar of the Abbey, was buried previously.
