  It is announced today from 10 Downing Street that Her Majesty The Queen has approved the appointment of The Reverend Andrew Tremlett, Canon of Bristol Cathedral, as a Canon of Westminster in succession to The Reverend Canon Robert Wright, who will be leaving the Abbey in September.

  In the south aisle of the nave is a monument to Katherine Bovey, philanthropist. The white and coloured marble memorial shows a coat of arms.

  In the chapel of St Nicholas is the shrine of Anna Sophia daughter of Christophe de Harley, Comte de Beaumont, Ambassador from the French Court.

  In St Margaret's Church, on the north wall, is a monument to Francis Egioke, near his grave. It consists of a kneeling figure in armour.

  Mildred Cecil, Lady Burghley and her daughter Anne Vere, Countess of Oxford have a large monument in St Nicholas' chapel. Richard Cecil, Lord Burghley's father, is buried in St Margaret's Church.

  There are four Elizabeth Cecils buried here - Baroness Ros, the Countess of Berkshire, the Countess of Devonshire and the wife of Sir Robert Cecil.

  The Reverend Robinson Duckworth is buried in the Quire. On 9th May 1988 a small glass window to him was unveiled in the dark cloister.
