  His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales attended a Service of Thanksgiving for the late Dame Joan Sutherland OM AC DBE (1926 - 2010) in Westminster Abbey on Tuesday 15th February at 12 noon.

• Elizabeth, Lady Latimer

  Elizabeth, wife of Edward Osborne, Viscount Latimer, was buried on 5th May 1680 together with her daughter Lady Grace. But the location is unknown.

• Grand Duchess Elizabeth

  A statue to this modern martyr, Grand Duchess Elizabeth of Hesse-Darmstadt, was unveiled in July 1998 and stands above the west entrance to Westminster Abbey.

  In the north choir aisle of Westminster Abbey is the grave of the Reverend Howel Holland Edwards and his wife Caroline.

  Prince Rupert, Count Palatine of the Rhine and Duke of Cumberland and Bavaria, was buried on 6th December 1682 in a vault with his mother.

  Dr John Heylyn and his wife and daughter are buried in the south transept. The gravestone inscription is now very faint except for Elizabeth's name.

  In the north cloister is the gravestone of sisters Elizabeth and Jane Joye. Elizabeth was the eldest child of James Joye.

  Henry VII’s coronation took place in October 1485. Henry VII and his wife Elizabeth of York were the first monarchs to be buried in the Abbey’s Lady Chapel.

  Sir Edward Rogers, Comptroller of the Household of Elizabeth I, was buried in St John the Evangelist's chapel in Westminster Abbey.

  Edward the Confessor was King from 1042 to 1066. He founded a monastery to St Peter, known as Westminster Abbey. His body still lies in his Shrine.
