• St Margaret's Review Group appointed

  The Dean and Chapter has announced the appointment of a St Margaret's Church, Westminster Abbey review group under the chairmanship of The Rt Hon The Baroness Butler-Sloss GBE.

• Abbey Commemorates Victims of 2015 Attacks

  His Royal Highness Prince Henry of Wales, representing Her Majesty The Queen, attended a Service of Solemn Commemoration for the Victims of the 2015 Terrorist Attacks in Tunisia at Westminster Abbey at Noon on Tuesday 12th April 2016.

• Prince Harry Attends ANZAC Day Service

  HRH Prince Henry of Wales attended a Service of Commemoration and Thanksgiving to mark ANZAC Day at Westminster Abbey at Noon on Monday 25th April 2016. The National Anthem was sung.

• New Lord Mayor welcomed by Abbey

  Westminster Abbey welcomes new Lord Mayor: Matins, attended in Civic State by the Lord Mayor of Westminster, Councillor Ian Adams, and Councillors of the City of Westminster, was held at Westminster Abbey.

  Her Majesty The Queen and HRH The Duke of Edinburgh attended a Service of Thanksgiving for the Life and Work of the Rt Hon The 1st Earl of Snowdon GCVO in St Margaret's Church on Friday 7th April. They were accompanied by the Duke of Cambridge, the Duke of York, the Earl of Wessex, the Duke of Gloucester and the Duke of Kent.

• St Margaret’s holds Service for the New Parliament

  The Archbishop of Canterbury, the Most Reverend and Right Honourable Justin Welby, Primate of All England and Metropolitan, gave the Address at Service for a New Parliament at St Margaret's Church, Westminster Abbey on Wednesday 28th June 2017.

• Prince Harry opens Field of Remembrance

  His Royal Highness Prince Henry of Wales opened the Royal British Legion's 89th Field of Remembrance at Westminster Abbey on Thursday 9th November 2017.

• Abbey Marks Centenary of Police Women

  A service of thanksgiving to mark the centenary of police women in the Metropolitan Police Service was held at Westminster Abbey on 17th May 2019.

• James Rennell

  Engineer

  James Rennell, cartographer, is buried in the centre of the nave. His grave is now unmarked but just had his name, death date and age.

• John Packer

  Politician and Philanthropist

  John Packer, politician and philanthropist, was buried in St Margaret's church Westminster on 15th February 1649 but he has no monument or inscribed gravestone.

• James Henry Monk

  Priest/Minister

  James Henry Monk, bishop and classical scholar, is buried in the north choir aisle. The brass over his grave is set in black Galway marble.

• Sir William Waller

  Politician and Soldier

  Sir William Waller, Parliamentary General, died on 19th September 1668 at Osterley House and was buried in an overflow burial ground for St Margaret's Church.

• Charles Agar, Earl of Normanton

  Priest/Minister and Philanthropist

  Charles Agar, Earl of Normanton and his wife Jane are buried in the north transept. A monument to him was erected in the north choir.

• James and John Fleming

  Soldier

  Major General James Fleming is buried in the central aisle of the nave, with a large monument nearby. His nephew Sir John Fleming is also buried in the nave.

• Richard Steward

  Dean and Priest/Minister

  Richard Steward was nominated Dean of Westminster but he followed the future Charles II into exile during the English Civil War so was never installed.

• Thomas Seymour

  At the south east end of St Margaret's is a large marble monument, possibly by sculptor Epiphanius Evesham, to Thomas Seymour and his wife Isabel.

• Sir John Ogle & son

  Soldier

  Lt. Colonel Sir John Ogle was buried in the Abbey on 17th March 1640. He was the fifth son of Thomas and his wife Jane.

• A. E. Housman

  Poet

  Alfred Edward Housman, poet, has a memorial panel in the window above Chaucer's monument in Poets' Corner. This was unveiled on 17th September 1996.

• John Parsons

  Musician and Composer

  John Parsons, organist and composer, is buried in the cloisters. He was the Abbey's Master of Choristers from 1613-1623, and Organist from 1621.

• Hatton Family

  Statesman

  The large monument to Sir Christopher Hatton is now in the triforium, having being moved from the lower Islip chapel. He and his wife Alice are both buried just outside this area .
