  Henry was buried in Westminster Abbey on the north side of the Sanctuary area near the entrance to the chapel of St Edward the Confessor.

• Anne of Cleves, 4th wife of Henry VIII

  Mary I ordered Anne of Cleves’ burial in the Abbey. She lies on the south side of the High Altar, her monument showing her initials.

• The King and The Prince of Wales celebrate 300th anniversary of The Order of the Bath

  HM The King and HRH The Prince of Wales attended a service for The Most Honourable Order of the Bath at Westminster Abbey on Friday 16th May. The King is Sovereign of the Order and the Prince of Wales was today installed as its Great Master.

• Henry II

  Henry was the eldest son of Empress Matilda. He and his queen, Eleanor of Aquitaine, were crowned in Westminster Abbey on Sunday 19th December 1154.

• Henry Priestman

  In the nave of Westminster Abbey is a memorial to Henry Priestman who died in 1712 aged 65, but he is not buried here.

• Henry VIII

  The coronation of Henry VIII and Katherine of Aragon took place in the Abbey on 24th June 1509. He is buried at Windsor.

• Henry Carr

  In the south transept is the grave of Major Henry Carr. It is worn on one side but the name can still be seen.

• Henry VI

  Henry VI was crowned in Westminster Abbey in 1429 aged 8. He has a modern statue in the Lady Chapel.

• Anne Neville, wife of Richard III

  Anne was crowned queen on 6th July 1483. She died in 1485 and is buried on the southern side of Westminster Abbey's High Altar.

• Matilda (Maud) wife of Henry I

  The marriage of Matilda of Scotland to King Henry I in 1100 united the Saxon and Norman lines. She is buried near the Shrine of St Edward in Westminster Abbey but has no tomb or memorial.

• Henry IV

  Henry was born in April 1366 and was crowned on 13th October 1399. He died in a room at Westminster Abbey called the Jerusalem Chamber.

  Henry Ferne, bishop of Chester, is buried in St Edmund's chapel. His grave consists of a marble plinth inset with an engraved cartouche of arms.

  The monument to Henry Carey, 1st Baron Hunsdon (died 1596) is the tallest in Westminster Abbey, at thirty-six feet high. Various members of his family are buried in the Carey vault.

• Henry, Duke of Gloucester

  Henry, Duke of Gloucester, son of Charles I, was buried in the south aisle of Henry VII's chapel in Westminster Abbey on 21st September 1660.

  In the north aisle of the nave of Westminster Abbey is a memorial window for Sir Frederick Henry Royce, engineer and car designer.

  Musician and Composer

  Henry Lawes, the distinguished musician and songwriter, was buried somewhere in the cloisters. His brother John, a lay vicar of the Abbey, was buried previously.
