Westminster Abbey’s world-famous choir arrives in Italy this week (Tuesday 26th June) for a tour of Rome and Montecassino which will include singing for Pope Benedict XVI, with the Cappella Musicale Pontificia ‘Sistina’, the Sistine Chapel Choir, at the Papal Mass marking the Solemnity of St Peter and St Paul (Friday 29th June) in St Peter’s Basilica.

Abolitionist
A memorial of slate was unveiled for Thomas Clarkson, abolitionist, on 26th September 1996, being placed between the statues of William Wilberforce and Stamford Raffles.

The famous actor manager Thomas Betterton was buried in the East Cloister "over against the third pillar from the south end next to the garden".

Thomas Hesilrige was buried in the south ambulatory on 30th October 1651 but his body, with other followers of Oliver Cromwell, was disinterred.

On the north wall of St Margaret's church Westminster is a monument to Thomas Arnwaye (Arnway) and his wife Margaret.

Colonel Thomas Becker was buried in St Margaret's Church Westminster on 27th April 1716. There is no monument or marker for him in the church.

Thomas Gassaway was a carpenter in Westminster and was buried in St Margaret's church on 19th November 1658. He has no remaining gravestone or monument.

Thomas Cremer (or Creamer) and his sister Anne are buried in St Margaret's church Westminster and have an oval memorial tablet on the west wall.

In the north transept is the grave of the celebrated physician Thomas Willis. The current stone was dedicated in 1961 to replace the original.

Thomas Amyot (Amyott), lawyer and historian, and his wife Jane are buried in St Margaret's church. There is a marble tablet on the north wall.

At the south east end of St Margaret's is a large marble monument, possibly by sculptor Epiphanius Evesham, to Thomas Seymour and his wife Isabel.

Priest/Minister
Thomas Browne, Head Master of Westminster School from 1564-1570, was buried in the north transept. He authored Thebais, a tragedy and several occasional poems.
