First Commonwealth Theologian in Residence appointed

Sailors pay tribute to great admiral

Sailors marked the 300th anniversary of the death of the Royal Navy hero Sir Cloudesley Shovell with a wreathlaying ceremony conducted by Canon Nicholas Sagovsky at Admiral Shovell’s grave in the Abbey’s south choir aisle this week.

New Canon Theologian appointed

It is announced today (Tuesday 21st December 2010) from 10 Downing Street that Her Majesty The Queen has approved the appointment of The Reverend Vernon White as a Canon of Westminster. He will become Canon Theologian in succession to the Reverend Canon Dr Nicholas Sagovsky, who will be leaving the Abbey in January.
