William Wilberforce, MP, who took up the cause for the abolition of slavery was buried in the north transept. Samuel was Dean of Westminster and Basil was Archdeacon.

The ashes of Sir William McKie, organist of the Abbey, and his wife Phyllis are buried in the west cloister of Westminster Abbey.
