• Henry Carey, Lord Hunsdon & Family

  The monument to Henry Carey, 1st Baron Hunsdon (died 1596) is the tallest in Westminster Abbey, at thirty-six feet high. Various members of his family are buried in the Carey vault.

  In the south choir aisle is a tablet in memory of the Reverend Dr Thomas Knipe, Head Master of Westminster School and Prebendary of Westminster.

  Thomas Ravenscroft was buried in the north cloister of the Abbey opposite the wall monument to Christopher Chapman. His grave inscription is no longer visible.

  Thomas Gassaway was a carpenter in Westminster and was buried in St Margaret's church on 19th November 1658. He has no remaining gravestone or monument.

  Thomas Shadwell, dramatist and writer of comedies and operas, has a black and white marble monument in the east aisle of Poets' Corner.

  Thomas Thirlby (c.1500-1570) was consecrated the first and only Bishop of the new short-lived diocese of Westminster in December 1540.

  In the south choir aisle is the tomb of the eminent judge Thomas Owen. His reclining effigy is in judicial robes, resting on his elbow.

  In the north aisle of the nave is a white marble monument to Robert Killigrew. It is a tablet in the form of a shield.

  John Hussey, Lord Delaval, his wife Susanna and daughter Sarah are buried in St Paul's chapel. Admiral Sir Ralph Delaval is buried in the nave.

  Colonel Thomas Bushell was buried on 24th April 1674 in the Little Cloister. The Little Cloister is the area where the clergy have their residences.

  Thomas Triplet (or Triplett), Sub-Dean of the Abbey, was buried in the south transept and has a monument there.

  Thomas Sprat, Dean of Westminster, is buried in St Nicholas’s chapel in Westminster Abbey. His son Thomas and wife Helen lie with him.

  In the north ambulatory is a tablet to Juliana Crewe. On the other side is a marble mural monument to Lady Jane Crewe.

  "Colonel" Thomas Blood, who attempted to steal the Crown Jewels, was buried in the New Chapel burial ground in Westminster in 1680.

  Dr Edward Willes, bishop of Bath and Wells, was buried in the north ambulatory, together with his wife Jane and sons Edward and Sir Francis.

  The large monument to Sir Christopher Hatton is now in the triforium, having being moved from the lower Islip chapel. He and his wife Alice are both buried just outside this area .
