    Charles' coronation took place on 23rd April 1661. He was buried in the Abbey on 14th February 1685 in a vault in Henry VII's chapel.

    Ahead of the Coronation of Their Majesties The King and The Queen Consort on 6 May, we’ll be sharing stories from each of the 38 Coronation services held here since 1066.

  • Princess Anne, daughter of Queen Elizabeth II

    Princess Anne is the only daughter of Queen Elizabeth II and Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. In 1973 she married Captain Mark Phillips in Westminster Abbey.

  • Richard II and Anne of Bohemia

    Richard was crowned in Westminster Abbey on 16th July 1377 aged 10. He married Anne of Bohemia in January 1382 and both are buried in the Abbey. His portrait hangs in the nave.
