  • Ticket ballot opens for Stephen Hawking Memorial Service

    Wednesday, 9th May 2018

    A ballot opens 9th May for tickets for the Service of Thanksgiving for the life of Professor Stephen Hawking and the burial of his ashes.

    His three children, Robert, Lucy and Tim are offering tickets for the service to the public through the ballot system, run by the Stephen Hawking Foundation.

    Visiting the Abbey in a group is a wonderful day out. We welcome private tour groups as well as school and university groups all year.

    Once your account has been approved, you can visit the Groups’ Portal and purchase your group tickets.

  • Organ recital to mark Christchurch anniversary

    Friday, 13th February 2015

    Westminster Abbey will mark the fourth anniversary of the 2011 Christchurch earthquake with an organ recital on Sunday 22nd February at 5.45pm. Admission is free and tickets are not required.

    Monday, 6th March 2023

    Westminster Abbey will be closed to visitors and worshippers from Tuesday 25th April and will re-open on Monday 8th May.

    Visitor tickets for May - July can now be booked.
