  As part of Westminster Abbey’s commitment to safeguarding children, young people and vulnerable adults we have put in place a safeguarding policy and arrangements.

• Order of the Bath

  The Most Honourable Order of the Bath was established as a military order by George I on 18th May 1725. Since then the Lady Chapel at Westminster Abbey has been used as their chapel.

  His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh attended a Service of Commemoration and Thanksgiving to mark ANZAC (Australian and New Zealand Army Corps) Day at Westminster Abbey on Thursday 25th April 2024.

• London Mayors attend Abbey Evensong

  Evensong to celebrate the Feast of the Dedication of Westminster Abbey was held in the presence of the Lord Mayor of Westminster and the Mayors of the London Boroughs, together with members of the Greater London Lieutenancy, on Sunday 20th October 2019.

• Abbey marks 80th anniversary of the Battle of Britain

• Princess Margaret, daughter of George VI

  Princess Margaret was the second daughter of King George VI and the sister of Queen Elizabeth II. She married at Westminster Abbey in 1960.
