Abbey releases Order of Service for Warrior centenary

This morning, a special service will mark the centenary of the burial of the Unknown Warrior in Westminster Abbey on 11 November 1920.

The service will be attended by TRH The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall, and will be broadcast live on BBC One from 10:30am. Highlights will be shown on BBC Two this evening at 7:00pm.

The Abbey this morning publishes the Order of Service for viewers to follow from home.

A new article, commissioned specially to mark the centenary, is also published today, telling the story of how one unknown serviceman came to represent the thousands of loved ones lost on the battlefields of the First World War. Read the article here.

You are surrounded by history at the Abbey, not like a museum where it’s just displayed, but here you are standing where history has happened.
