Abbey Launches #MakeHistory Campaign

Westminster Abbey has launched a new campaign inviting members of the public to get involved with an exciting new chapter of the Abbey’s history: the creation of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Galleries. The #makehistory campaign is asking for public donations towards the cost of the project.

Over 90% of the funding has already been secured from private benefactors and trusts for the project but the Abbey is now widening its campaign to all those in the UK and overseas who have an affection for the Abbey and would like to play a role in its next historic phase of its development.

Donations can be made by text, via an online donations book or sponsoring a pane of glass in the new tower. £100 donations will receive a print of this painting by renowned watercolour artist, Alexander Creswell (pictured).

At different times of the day, or in different seasons, the light falling in the Abbey will light up something that you have walked past a million times and never seen before.
