Kick start your summer holidays with London-inspired crafts and stories with our friends from around the capital.
Are you keen to find out about London’s legendary landmarks? Activities include:
- Celebrate 200 years of London Zoo by creating your favourite animals and uncover essential conservation work.
- Discover the amazing true story about the Number 78 bus that jumped over Tower Bridge.
- Get Gelli printing to explore Westminster Abbey’s historic connections to William Caxton and England’s first printing press.
- Duck, dive and roll through an empowering dance workshop from Wee Movers inspired by the British Library’s Fairy Tales Exhibition.
- Create a beautiful hobby horse, inspired by the horses who live and work at the Royal Mews, Buckingham Palace.
- Find out what a sausage dog has to do with St Paul’s Cathedral and make your own daschund pencil holder.
- Design a Spanish and Portuguese style tile coaster with Bevis Marks Synagogue, inspired by their Ark or Ehal (where the Torah Scrolls are kept).
- Join RIBA Learning for a chance to recreate the London skyline with ‘Happy Squares’, the building system that helps you build big quickly.
- Dress up as an Anglo-Saxon and play historic games with Kingston Museum.
- Begin a hands-on exploration of stories from the East End including food traditions and Yiddish theatre with the Jewish Museum London.
- Have a go at coding your own railway using the London Transport Museum’s smart Intelino train sets to send electric codes along the tracks.

Ticketing information
In the event of wet weather, this event will be run inside the Chapter House and the cloisters.
This event does not include independent access into Westminster Abbey. If you'd like to also book a self-guided ticket, we recommend looking at the Visit us pages to plan a visit during opening hours.
Age suitability
This activity is suitable for children aged 5+.
All children must be accompanied by an adult throughout their time at the Abbey.
Meeting location
This event will meet by the Cloister Entrance to Westminster Abbey in Dean's Yard.
Access and security
Please have your ticket ready to show our staff (either printed or on your mobile phone).
On your arrival, your bag will be searched and we ask you not to bring any large items with you (for example suitcases, large backpacks or folding bicycles) as these will not be allowed inside and we are unable to store them for you.
