  A small bust now commemorates James Watt, the great civil engineer. This replaced a very large marble statue.

  James Turle was Organist and Master of the Choristers at Westminster Abbey from 1831-1882. He has a memorial tablet in the cloisters and a memorial window in the Abbey but is not buried here.

  Writer, Dean and Priest/Minister

  William Vincent, Dean of Westminster, is buried in St Benedict's chapel. Nearby in the south transept are memorial tablets to him, his wife, and son George Giles.

• Thomas Thynne

  Politician

  In the south choir aisle of Westminster Abbey is a monument to Thomas Thynne (Thynn) who was murdered in the Haymarket in London.

• Frances and Charles Burney

  Writer, Novelist, Musician and Priest/Minister

  In a window in Poets’ Corner is a memorial panel to Fanny Burney. Her father Charles, musician, has a memorial in the north choir aisle.

• Francis Atterbury

  Francis Atterbury, Dean of Westminster, is buried at the west end of the nave but has no monument. He was born on 6th March 1663.

  Dr Anthony Horneck, clergyman, is buried in the south transept of Westminster Abbey, together with his wife, daughter Elizabeth and son William.

  On the west wall of Poets' Corner is a monument to the famous actor David Garrick, not far from his grave. By H. Webber.

  In the south aisle of the nave of Westminster Abbey is a white marble monument to Sir Palmes Fairborne. The sculptor was John Bushnell.

  Major General James Fleming is buried in the central aisle of the nave, with a large monument nearby. His nephew Sir John Fleming is also buried in the nave.

  In the north ambulatory is a marble monument to Field Marshal John [Jean-Louis], Earl Ligonier. His brother Francis has a memorial in the south cloister.

  In the north choir aisle is a large memorial to Dr Hugh Chamberlen. It consists of marbles with an effigy of Hugh in doctor's gown.
