  John Hussey, Lord Delaval, his wife Susanna and daughter Sarah are buried in St Paul's chapel. Admiral Sir Ralph Delaval is buried in the nave.

  In 1903 a statue to William Gladstone, Prime Minister, was unveiled. A gravestone, to William and his wife Catherine, was put in after Catherine’s death.

• Charles III

  King Charles III was crowned in Westminster Abbey on 6th May 2023.

• John Campbell, 2nd Duke of Argyll

  Soldier

  John Campbell, 2nd Duke of Argyll and 1st Duke of Greenwich, orator and soldier, was buried in Henry VII's chapel but his large monument is in the south transept.

• Sir George Gilbert Scott

  Architect, Historian and Writer

  In the centre of the nave is the grave of Sir George Gilbert Scott, architect and Surveyor of the Fabric at the Abbey from 1849-1878.

• John Howard, Earl of Stafford & family

  In the chapel of St Edmund is a marble monument to John Paul Howard, 4th Earl of Stafford. The monument is by Robert Chambers.

• James and John Fleming

  Soldier

  Major General James Fleming is buried in the central aisle of the nave, with a large monument nearby. His nephew Sir John Fleming is also buried in the nave.

• Henry VII and Elizabeth of York

  Henry VII’s coronation took place in October 1485. Henry VII and his wife Elizabeth of York were the first monarchs to be buried in the Abbey’s Lady Chapel.

• Edward the Confessor and Edith

  Edward the Confessor was King from 1042 to 1066. He founded a monastery to St Peter, known as Westminster Abbey. His body still lies in his Shrine.
