    The Chilean Navy paid its annual tribute at the grave of Admiral Cochrane, the 10th Earl of Dundonald, on Wednesday 20th May 2015.

    Wreaths were laid by HE Roland Drago, the Ambassador of Chile, and by Major General Martin Smith, representing the First Sea Lord.

    He was a son of Sir Edward Herbert, Attorney General to Charles I and Lord Keeper of the Great Seal, and his wife Margaret (nee Smith).

    John Burgoyne, army officer, politician and author, was buried in the north cloister of Westminster Abbey alongside his daughter Charlotte in 1792.

    After various campaigns he eventually had to surrender to General Horatio Gates at Saratoga on 17th October 1777 but he was permitted to return to England.

    Field Marshal Herbert Charles Onslow Plumer, 1st Viscount Plumer G.C.B. is buried in the chapel of St George at the west end of the nave.

    Herbert commanded troops on the Western Front from 1915 and was given the rank of General.
