In St Margaret's church Westminster is a monument to Lady Dorothy Stafford, lady of the bedchamber to Elizabeth I. She and her son Sir Edward Stafford are buried in the church.

In the north-west tower chapel in the nave is a memorial to George Augustus, 3rd Viscount Howe. He was commander of the Royal American regiment.

Charles Darwin
Scientist and Writer
Charles Robert Darwin, naturalist, is buried in the north aisle of the nave of Westminster Abbey, not far from Sir Isaac Newton. His memorial is by J.E. Boehm.

Politician, Soldier, Diplomat and Historian
In the nave, within the choir screen, is a large monument to James Stanhope, 1st Earl Stanhope. Inscriptions to later Stanhope's have been added.

Soldier
Prince Edmund "Crouchback", Earl of Lancaster and Aveline de Forz were the first royal couple to be married in the newly built Westminster Abbey. Both are also buried in the church.

The Coronation of Their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla was held at Westminster Abbey on Saturday 6th May 2023.

Elizabeth I
Queen Elizabeth I, daughter of Henry VIII, was crowned at Westminster Abbey on 15th January 1559. She was buried in the Abbey in 1603. Her monument is in the Lady Chapel.
