Sir William Bassett (Basset) was buried "within the south door of the monuments" of Westminster Abbey, most likely the south ambulatory in 1667. But nothing marks his grave.
In 1666 he was knighted and was Member of Parliament for Cardiff and an officer in the Royal Horse Guards.
