John and Richard Blackborne
John Blackborne was buried in the cloisters but the exact location is not known. Richard Blackborne, his brother, was mostly likely buried near John.
Her father John Winterborne was an Abbey verger, one of Dean Goodman's most faithful servants, and was buried on 23rd November 1607 in the cloisters.

Maurice Pickering
Philanthropist
Maurice Pickering was buried in St Margaret's churchyard on 30th June 1604. This is the area now grassed over between this church and Westminster Abbey.
Pickering had been a servant of Gabriel Goodman, the Dean of Westminster, and was an Abbey verger and a churchwarden of St Margaret's.

Thomas and John French
Thomas and John French were servants to Dean Thomas Sprat at Westminster Abbey and are buried in the south cloister.
For many years he was a verger at the Abbey and became College brewer in 1723.

Free entry to the Abbey for NHS staff as summer visiting hours are announced
Friday, 25th June 2021
NHS staff will be able to visit Westminster Abbey for free from July onwards. The gesture to NHS staff is an acknowledgment of all their hard work during the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic.
Verger-guided tours will also return during the summer.

Civilian War Dead Roll of Honour 1939 - 1945
The books forming the Civilian War Dead Roll of Honour 1939-45 can be seen in a showcase in the nave of Westminster Abbey near the west entrance.
Specific entries can be seen by arrangement with the Dean’s Verger (preferably with advance notice).

Hugh Easton

There are six stained glass windows in Westminster Abbey and its precincts designed by stained glass artist Hugh Easton.
This small chapel is not open to the public but application to view can be made to a Verger or Marshal at the Abbey.

Edward the Confessor and Edith
Edward the Confessor was King from 1042 to 1066. He founded a monastery to St Peter, known as Westminster Abbey. His body still lies in his Shrine.
The Chapel can be visited by those on a Verger Guided Tour but is closed to the general public due to the fragility of the floor.
