The Korean War Service

HM The Queen and HRH The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh attended a service of thanksgiving at Westminster Abbey on the 9th July to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the end of hostilities in the Korean War.

The service was attended by 2,000 veterans of the war, service chiefs, diplomats from the USA, South Korea and Commonwealth countries that took part in the war. Also attending were Their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, the Duke of Kent, Prince Michael of Kent and Her Royal Highness Princess Alexandra, the Hon Lady Ogilvy.
