Discover Westminster Abbey through the eyes of a pilgrim on this special tour for Edwardtide, including a visit the historic shrine of St Edward the Confessor, where the first medieval pilgrims came to pay their respects over 800 years ago. 

Explore pilgrimage in its other forms, from the celebration of poetry in Poets' Corner to the commemoration of sacrifice during war at the Grave of the Unknown Warrior. Whether looking at medieval relics or 20th century memorials, uncover the remarkable stories of nearly a thousand years of pilgrimage at the Abbey.

Ticketing information 

There is a maximum of 15 people per tour. This tour is 1 hour long. 

This tour will take you through Westminster Abbey and it will conclude at the end of the visitor route. 

This event does not include self-guided entry to Westminster Abbey. If you'd like to also book a self-guided ticket, we recommend looking at the Visit us pages to plan a visit during opening hours.

Meeting location 

This event will meet at the North Green of Westminster Abbey.

Access and security 

Please have your ticket ready to show our staff (either printed or on your mobile phone).

On your arrival, your bag will be searched and we ask you not to bring any large items with you (for example suitcases, large backpacks or folding bicycles) as these will not be allowed inside and we are unable to store them for you. 

The Abbey has uneven floors and parts of the tour may only be accessible up a flight of steps.
