Malaya memorial

In the north cloister of Westminster Abbey is a large Roman stone mural slab commemorating those who served Malaya. Designed by S.E. Dykes Bower, the Abbey Surveyor, and unveiled by The Queen Mother on 1st November 1962 the inscription reads:

To commemorate the works of all those men and women of the British race who served Malaya 1786-1957. They shall come from the east and from the west and shall sit down in the kingdom of God

At the top is the painted Royal arms achievement.
