John Osbaldeston

John Osbaldeston was buried in the south transept of Westminster Abbey, near the monument to William Camden and not far from the grave of a fellow royal servant Thomas Chiffinch. The grave inscription, now worn away, read:

Here lieth the body of John Osboldston of Leyland in the county of Lancaster, Esq. [Esquire], page of the bedchamber to King Charles II. He died the 1st of March 1666 and was buried the third day of the same month aged 65 years

His will gives his residence as Strand on the Green, at Chiswick in London. After his wife's death his estate was to go to the poor of Leyland. His wife Sarah was buried on 26th December 1677. She married secondly William Alanson in 1668.
