National Welcome Service for 12 Step Recovery
The All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on 12 Step Recovery welcomes you to a Service of Thanksgiving at St Margaret’s Church.
The APPG on 12 Step Recovery are a neutral, cross-party forum for debate, discussion and learning on 12 step recovery within Parliament. The group was founded by MPs and Peers who want to influence relevant policy to expand understanding of and access to the 12 step programme for recovery from addiction, whilst also exploring key questions for the future of 12 step recovery in the UK.
Developed in the 1930s, the 12 Step recovery programme is one of the most effective proven methods of treating addiction, and has been adopted worldwide. The Church has played a key role in providing meeting spaces for groups.
St Margaret’s Church, which is next to Westminster Abbey and opposite the Palace of Westminster, has close links with Parliament and is commonly referred to as the parish church of the House of Commons.
Attendance is by invitation only.
