Duchess of Cambridge to host community carol service at the Abbey

A Christmas service hosted and spearheaded by HRH The Duchess of Cambridge to celebrate inspirational individuals will take place at Westminster Abbey on Wednesday 8th December. It will also be televised by ITV later during the Christmas period.

Guests attending the service will include those involved in grassroots community initiatives, charity workers, volunteers, teachers and emergency responders who have stepped up to support their communities throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

Those who may be more vulnerable or isolated - including people with limited social connections, the recently bereaved or those without their own homes will also be in attendance.

The community service will feature carols performed by the Choir of Westminster Abbey alongside readings and musical performances by a variety of guests as well as personal reflections from individuals.

Advent and Christmas at the Abbey

Although it is not possible to book tickets for the community carol service, there are a range of other Advent and Christmas events and services taking place at the Abbey in December.
