President Trump visits Westminster Abbey

President Donald J. Trump, 45th President of the United States of America, visited Westminster Abbey on Monday 3rd June on the first day of his State Visit to Her Majesty The Queen.

The Dean of Westminster, the Very Reverend Dr John Hall, led prayers at the Grave of the Unknown Warrior and the President laid a wreath in honour of the fallen of the two World Wars and more recent conflicts.

The President and First Lady, Mrs Melania Trump, were escorted by the Dean on a tour of the Abbey. They were shown the graves of Isaac Newton and Professor Stephen Hawking, the High Altar and Coronation theatre, Henry VII's Lady Chapel and the tomb of Mary Queen of Scots.

Following the tour, the President and First Lady signed the Abbey's Distinguished Visitors' Book.

Previous American Presidents to have visited Westminster Abbey include President Barack Obama in 2011 and President George W. Bush in 2003.
