The Abbey from the North Green

Our “Arty Abbey” session invited families to explore the Abbey building using art techniques.

Sketching shapes and patterns was encouraged through games and challenges before families were invited to paint images of the Abbey or their favourite sections and patterns.

All families throughout the day were invited to contribute to a final montage of the Abbey’s West Front to encourage thinking about scale.

I’ve worked here for over thirty years and have seen many of the major services - it’s strange to realise that you are in a small way part of history.
