Henry Grove

The Hon. Henry Grove, Lieutenant General, who had fought in Flanders under the Duke of Marlborough, was buried in the east cloister of Westminster Abbey on 26th November 1736 aged 71 but he has no monument or gravestone. His wife was Elizabeth and his brothers were Christopher and John Grove. No children were mentioned in his will. He was deputy governor of Berwick on Tweed and Governor of Dartmouth and at his death was a colonel of a regiment then at Gibraltar.
