The tours, workshops and events listed below are suitable for EYFS, Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2 classes, and focus on different aspects of religious education covered by the National Curriculum.

To be a Pilgrim

Workshop for KS2 students

Learn about the experience of pilgrims to St Edward’s the Confessor’s Shrine in medieval times and today and make a striking pilgrim’s badge to commemorate your visit.

Cost: £5 per pupil (includes a tour of the Abbey)
Recommended start times: 10.00 am and 12.45 pm


Light and Colour

Workshop for KS1 and KS2 students

Discover the beauty and colour within the Abbey and make a stained glass window to take home.

Abbey Through Time

Pilgrimage

Find out about Anglo-Saxon King of England, Edward the Confessor, and visit his Shrine, just as pilgrims have done for nearly a thousand years.
