The tours, workshops and events listed below are suitable for EYFS, Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2 classes, and focus on different aspects of literacy and the arts covered by the National Curriculum.

Charles Dickens and the Victorians

Workshop for KS2 students

Create a character the Charles Dickens way and learn how Dickens, buried in the Abbey, was instrumental in the drive to improve the lives of the poor in Victorian London.

Cost: £5 per pupil (includes a tour of the Abbey)
Recommended start times: 10.00 am and 12:45 pm


Welcome to Narnia

Workshop for KS2 students

Find out about the importance of C. S. Lewis’ Christian faith to his stories and make a magical wardrobe to take home.

Shakespeare's Kings

Tour for KS2 students

Visit Shakespeare’s memorial, listen to his royal stories and get up close to where those kings and queens are buried.

Cost: £4 per pupil


At different times of the day, or in different seasons, the light falling in the Abbey will light up something that you have walked past a million times and never seen before.
