A Great and Mighty Wonder: Seminar II
The second in a weekly series of contemplative Advent lunchtime seminars, each with a different art historian and theologian, focussing on pictures of the Virgin and Child from the National Gallery’s collection.
Professor Al Acres and the Reverend Dr Jamie Hawkey will explore Geertgen tot Sint Jans’ painting Nativity at night. This 45 minute lunchtime seminar is designed as a preparation for Christmas, and is part of an online series offered by the Abbey during the COVID-19 pandemic to inspire hope and reflection on the coming of Christ.
