Wilfred Thomas Edwards

Wilfred Thomas Edwards was a generous benefactor to the Westminster Abbey restoration appeal which culminated in the cleaning of Henry VII's Lady Chapel in 1995. His name is recorded on one of the enamelled copper plaques in the vestibule of this chapel. These were designed by Donald Buttress and painted by Kenneth Breese in 1999. This shows his coat of arms (tierced per pale gules bezantee argent and in pale a tally stick sable. On a chief embattled or three Stafford knots sable) and crest (On a coronet or statant within the same a rook close and guardant proper resting the dexter claw upon a pair of dividers or. Mantled gules doubled argent). His name and motto Nunquam Non Nova is inscribed. He was a long serving Voluntary Helper at the Abbey and died in 2011.
