The Reverend Jane Sinclair installed as Rector of St Margaret’s Church

The Reverend Jane Sinclair was installed as Rector of St Margaret's Church, Westminster Abbey, during Sung Eucharist at 11.00am on Sunday 4th September 2016.

Canon Sinclair has served as the Abbey's Canon Steward since September 2014. As Rector of St Margaret's, she succeeds the Venerable Andrew Tremlett, who was installed as Dean of Durham in July.

During the service, Canon Sinclair was led to her stall in the church by the Dean of Westminster, the Very Reverend Dr John Hall. She was greeted by representatives of neighbouring public institutions and schools, and of the staff and congregation of St Margaret's.

As Rector, Canon Sinclair will also chair the Westminster Abbey Institute, which works with the public service institutions around Parliament Square to revitalise moral and spiritual values in public life.

She will be succeeded as Canon Steward by the Reverend Anthony Ball, who will be installed during Evensong on Saturday 10th September.
