Things you need to know

Things you need to know

We encourage all visitors to the Abbey to check-in via the NHS Test & Trace app. This is in line with the Government's COVID-19 Test and Trace programme.

If you do check-in with the NHS Test & Trace app, contact details for all visitors and service attendees will be taken and held on file for a period of 21 days. Your details will only be used, if necessary, in conjunction with the Test and Trace programme and Westminster Abbey will not process this data for any other purpose.

Anyone is welcome to the Abbey but please don’t visit us if you have the symptoms of COVID-19. Follow the guidance on the NHS website if you think you may be unwell.

Attending a service

As COVID restrictions are being lifted our services are being adapted in order to prioritise the safety all who attend our services. Therefore, there are still some COVID hygiene measures in place:

- People who are not a part of the same group will be seated a metre apart, and there will be provision for anyone who wishes to be seated at a greater distance.
- We encourage the wearing of a face coverings during services.
- Congregational singing will be re-introduced in a cautious and limited way, and we will encourage everyone to keep their face coverings on, and to sing softly.
- Holy Communion will continue to be distributed in one kind (only the bread), and clergy will continue to wear face coverings during the distribution.

To avoid disappointment, please arrive well before the advertised start time.
