London Mayors attend Evensong together

Evensong to celebrate the Feast of the Dedication of Westminster Abbey was held in the presence of the Lord Mayor of Westminster and the Mayors of the London Boroughs, together with members of the Greater London Lieutenancy, on Sunday 15th October 2017.

The London Mayors' Association was welcomed to the Abbey by the Dean of Westminster, the Very Reverend Dr John Hall.

The Right Reverend Tim Thornton, Bishop at Lambeth, gave the sermon.

Kenneth Olisa OBE, Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London, read Jeremiah 7: 1-11, and the Lord Mayor of Westminster, Councillor Ian Adams, read St Luke 19: 29-end.

The service was sung by the Choir of Westminster Abbey conducted by James O'Donnell, Organist and Master of the Choristers. The organ was played by Matthew Jorysz, Assistant Organist, and before the service by Benjamin Cunningham, Organ Scholar.
