Sir Hugh Vaughan

Sir Hugh Vaughan died on 28th August 1536 and was buried in the chapel of St Michael in Westminster Abbey. He seems never to have had a monument or inscribed gravestone as nothing is mentioned for him in the guidebook to the Abbey published in 1600.

He leased a mansion with a garden to the south of the Abbey. His first wife Lady Anne Percy, daughter of the 3rd Earl of Northumberland and widow of both Sir Thomas Hungerford and Sir Laurence Raynesford, died in 1522 and was said to be buried in the Abbey. He married secondly Blanche who died in 1553 and is buried at Littleton in Middlesex. He had a son George.
