Thomas Trotter pays tribute to Her Majesty The Queen in her Platinum Jubilee year.

To close the 2022 festival, Thomas Trotter presents an entertaining selection of repertoire ranging from Handel to Danksagmüller, with music by César Franck in his 200th anniversary year and works honouring Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on the occasion of her Platinum Jubilee.

About Thomas Trotter

Thomas Trotter is one of Britain's most widely admired musicians, reflected in Her Majesty The Queen awarding him The Queen's Medal for Music on St Cecilia's Day 2020.

He has a special relationship with the City of Birmingham, having been appointed City Organist in 1983, and is also Organist of St Margaret’s Church, Westminster Abbey.

The excellence of his musicianship has long been recognised internationally in his musical partnerships, and alongside his regular recitals in Birmingham he performs widely throughout the USA and Europe.

Tickets can be purchased on the door on the evening of the concert or in advance via Eventbrite (see the link above).

  • Entry for this event is via the Great West Door
  • Doors open at 6.30pm
  • The Performance will last for approximately one hour with no interval
  • Seating is unreserved
  • Children are welcome but this event is not recommended for those under the age of six
  • Photography, filming and sound recording are not permitted at Abbey concerts

Summer Organ Festival

This concert is part of the Summer Organ Festival, where the Abbey’s magnificent five-manual Harrison & Harrison organ takes centre stage. 

Vincent Dubois, Matthew Jorysz, James O’Donnell and Peter Holder will also be performing during the festival, which will see the organ brought to life.

The festival takes place between 12th July to 9th August 2022.
