Samuel Birch

Samuel Birch was buried in the north porch area of Westminster Abbey (known as Solomon's Porch) on 20th June 1719 aged 72. But he has no monument or marker. He lived in the parish of St Margaret's Westminster and a newspaper of the day recorded "On Tuesday night died Dr Birch, an eminent physician at his house in King Street". The papers also said he was 96 but the age given in the Abbey's Funeral Book is more likely to be correct. He was in perfect heath until a day or two before his death. His son was Joseph.
