Lady Anne Bertie

Lady Anne Bertie was buried in St Michael's chapel at Westminster Abbey on 22nd March 1661 but she has no marker or monument. She was the third daughter of Robert Bertie, 1st Earl of Lindsey and his wife Elizabeth. She was among 9 sons and 5 daughters of the couple. Her father was a Royalist army officer and the family vault is at Edenham in Lincolnshire. She died unmarried aged about 45. Her funeral took place at night and the Precentor's book records that three dozen torches and nine pounds of wax candles were used.
