Lady Ann Walpole

Lady Ann Walpole was buried in St Andrew's chapel in Westminster Abbey on 16th August 1722 but she has no marker. She was a daughter of Thomas Osborne, 1st Duke of Leeds and his wife Lady Bridget (Bertie). Her first husband was Robert Coke of Holkham in Norfolk (ancestor of the Earl of Leicester) and her second was Horatio, a son of Sir Edward Walpole (ancestor of the Earl of Orford). They had no children. Prior to the funeral the coffin lay in Jerusalem Chamber (part of the Deanery).

Her coffin plate read:

The Rt. Honble. the Lady Ann Walpole one of the daughters of his Grace Thomas, Duke of Leeds. She was first the widdow of Robert Coke Esq. and afterwards of Horatio Walpole Esq. Died the 5 of August 1722 in the 64th year of her age.
