Westminster Abbey welcomes new Lord Mayor of Westminster

The Dean of Westminster, the Very Reverend Dr John Hall, welcomed The Lord Mayor of Westminster, Councillor Steve Summers, and other Westminster councillors to the annual Civic Service at Westminster Abbey on Sunday 3rd July.

The Address was given by the Lord Mayor's Chaplain, The Reverend Michael Macey.

The leader of Westminster City Council, Councillor Philippa Roe, read Isaiah 12 and the Lord Mayor read Colossians 3: 12–15.

Prayers were led by The Reverend Paul Arbuthnot, Minor Canon and Sacrist of Westminster, and said by Professor Michael Arthur, Provost of University College, London, and the Reverend David Stanton, Canon Treasurer.

The service was sung by the Choir of Westminster Abbey conducted by the Organist and Master of the Choristers, James O'Donnell. The organ was played by Daniel Cook, Sub-Organist. Music before the service was played by Matthew Jorysz, Assistant Organist.

A collection was taken for The Lord Mayor's charities, Greenhouse Sports and The Sir Simon Milton Foundation.
