Milman Children

In the north choir aisle of Westminster Abbey is the grave, with brass letters, of three young children of Henry Hart Milman, Canon of Westminster from 1835 to 1849. He was also Rector of St Margaret's Westminster and an author and historian. His wife was Mary Ann Cockell (who died 1st July 1871) and he died on 24th September 1868, being buried in St Paul's cathedral. The central inscription reads:

+This stone was placed over the grave of three beloved children by Henry Hart Milman sometime Canon of this Collegiate Church then Dean of St Paul's and by Mary Anne his wife who after a blessed union of forty-four years rest together in the crypt of his cathedral. "When we mourn the lost, the dear, gracious son of Mary hear". July 1. 1871
