John Robinson

John Robinson, organist of Westminster Abbey from 1727 until his death is buried in the north choir aisle of the Abbey not far from John Blow and William Croft. He died in North Street Westminster and was buried on 13th May 1762 aged 80. His gravestone is no longer readable and he has no monument. He was a chorister at the Chapel Royal under Blow and became organist at St Lawrence Old Jewry and St Magnus churches in London.

On 6th September 1716 he married in the Abbey Ann Turner, daughter of Dr William Turner (who is buried in the Abbey). She was a well known singer and was buried on 8th January 1741 in the west cloister. Their infant children Elizabeth and Catherine were buried in the south cloister. He had a son John Daniel by his second wife Mary.
