Minor Canon and Chaplain
The Reverend Jenny Petersen joined Westminster Abbey as Minor Canon and Chaplain in March 2017. Prior to that, Jenny regularly served in the Abbey, first as a duty chaplain and more recently as a priest vicar assisting with Abbey and St Margaret’s services.
As Chaplain she has pastoral responsibility for members of the Abbey community. She also shares responsibility with the Precentor and Sacrist for the daily worshipping life of the Abbey and the many special services, giving particular attention to the pastoral offices and memorial services in both the Abbey and St Margaret’s Church.
Jenny Petersen came to Westminster Abbey after 15 years as Chaplain at Queen Mary, University of London, in the Stepney area of the Diocese of London.
She was previously Associate Vicar at Mary’s, Ealing, and part-time Chaplain at Thames Valley University. She served her curacy in East Yorkshire in the United Benefice of Elloughton-cum-Brough with Brantingham. Jenny is originally from Melbourne, Australia.
