Tour: The Unknown Warrior
During Remembrancetide, join us for this special tour exploring the Abbey’s First World War history.
Discover the story of the Unknown Warrior, an unidentified British solider killed on the battlefields of northern France during the First World War. You'll also hear about the remarkable people responsible for his burial in the Abbey in November 1920, find out about those who fought and died across the world, and reflect on what the Warrior means to us today.
This tour will take you through the Abbey, and will end at the Chapter House where there will be an opportunity to visit Lands of Unknown Warriors, an exhibition by artist John Woodman.
The tour on the 11th November will include a minute’s silence at the Warrior’s grave.
