What is the Commonwealth and what does it mean to us today? Book your place on this free tour and find out more about this family of 53 countries, home to 2.4 billion citizens across the globe.

Westminster Abbey has strong links with the Commonwealth. Each year in March we host the Commonwealth Service – the largest annual multi-faith gathering in the UK, attended by The Queen and members of the Royal Family. We also welcome the High Commissioners of Commonwealth countries to the Abbey every year to celebrate their National Day.

Join our guide for this half-term tour and explore the history of the Commonwealth and how the organisation promotes democracy, human rights and equality around the world.

For young people aged 13 - 19.

The biggest challenge we face is actually time – getting all our work done alongside the daily routine of the Abbey as a working church, visitor attraction and home to 1,000 years of history.
